Step 1: Download Opencart Installer Files

Download the latest version of Open Cart from the following link and upload the files to the server using the Plesk hosting control panel or your preferred method of FTP.

Step 2: Preparing to Run the installer

Once the files have been uploaded onto the server you will need to extract the files using the file manager in the Plesk hosting control panel if you have not done so prior to uploading them, once done find the file title README.md and very carefully follow the instructions therein, note that if these instructions are not followed exactly you will not be able to complete the installation.

Step 3: Run the installer

Once you have completed the steps outlined in README.md, open a new tab in your browser and type in your domain name.

You should then see the following screen, simply click "Continue"

Step 4: Pre-Installation check

This is just the Pre-Installation check to see if the server that's going to host your Opencart CMS meets the requirements. If any warning should appear, please let us know and we can investigate further.

Step 5: Configuration

During this step, you need to make sure that you have entered the correct database details.

  • Database Host: This can be left as localhost
  • User: This will be the same as the database name
  • Password: Database password
  • Database Name: Database name
  • Database Prefix: This can be left blank

You also need to enter an admin username, password and email address. NB make note of these details entered as you will need this to log in.

Once you have entered all the required details click continue

Step 6: Instillation Complete and Remove Installation Folder

Once the installation is complete, you then need to remove the installation directory using your FTP client or the PLESK control panel, and that's it, you are done.
